  1. President (Emily Ramos):
    1. CYD report: $40-50 early pass/gen session on the floor. We are in the black. They are hiring a new executive director for CYD and are suspending bylaws in order to do endorsements for the chair race.
  2. Membership director (Ian Crueldad):
    1. Outreach committee will be up and going next meeting. There will be a sign up sheet.
  3. Treasurer (Charles Wilson III):
    1. Holiday party business.
  4. Political Director (Matt Savage):
    1. Endorsement scoreboard recap.

  1. Matt Savage announced a marketing director is wanted at his work. Talk to Matt for more details.
  2. Anthony Phan annonced that at Local 270 Hall, he was looking to organize assembly line workers against the Tesla plant for better working conditions by the United Auto Workers.
  3. Jeff Cardenas suggested creating a Community dialogue.

The Rod Sinks Campaign for Cupertino City Council is currently seeking forward thinking, passionate, and committed individuals of the community to join our civic engagement internship. As we move forward into November, we are looking for people interested in engaging the community by canvassing to spread the message and platform of the campaign, as well as individuals interested in applying for one of our currently open leadership positions (Data Captain, Community Outreach Director, and Field Recruitment Captain). The experience working hands on in the community on a campaign such as this is truly unique, and an incredibly impactful way to not only have your voice heard, but to also do right by your community. Yes on A for Affordable Housing

Communications and Outreach Student Intern (Paid)

We are looking for highly motivated and responsible people to join the Yes on A for Affordable Housing campaign to alleviate homelessness and ensure affordable housing for all families, seniors, veterans and the most vulnerable members of our community.

Job Title: Communications and Outreach Intern

Compensation: $20 per hour

Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week (including some evenings and weekends) until November 8, 2016.

Description: Under the direction of the senior campaign staff, interns will develop and execute a communications and outreach plan to inform and engage student voters on their campus. Such plan will include but not be limited to Measure A promotion and presentation before classrooms, student organizations, campus organizations and members of the student body, recruit volunteers for the campaign, and organize volunteer events.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize effective contact strategies and communication practices for voter engagement
  • Promote Measure A through traditional and innovative communication channels
  • Recruit volunteers and organize volunteer events to support Measure A
  • Develop long lasting and meaningful relationships with community leaders and housing advocates throughout the County
  • Be part of a skilled team of motivated individuals dedicated to ensuring affordable housing for all
  • Conduct a minimum of 5 visibility events and/or presentations per week
  • Attend a weekly staff meeting at campaign headquarters

Qualifications:

  • Current student at one of the following campuses: De Anza, Foothill, West Valley, Mission, Evergreen, Gavilan, San Jose City, Evergreen, San Jose State University
  • Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin language ability strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Responsible, reliable and highly responsive to emails, text and phone calls
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with social media tools
  • Willing to work some nights and weekends
  • Have reliable transportation, access to a car is strongly preferred

Posting description: Temporary part-time position.

Start date: IMMEDIATELY

Weekly commitment: Flexible, preferably 3-4 Days a week

Pay: Performance based, $12 an hour + $1 per collected pledge

Hours: Flexible Daytime Hours

Description: Help us collect pledges to stop pollution and distribute free re-usable bags.

Qualifications:
