League of conservation voters is hosting a a fundraiser  Alex would like to know if there is anyone who interested in attending the price is 25 dollars.

B. Vice President of Membership (Emily Ramos)

– Membership is improving especially with the new sign in sheets. There is still young dems that need to pay thier    dues. Please pay them today or online. Thank you.

Sarah Elizabeth Godar is seeking volunteers

C. Secretary (Juan Quinones)

We are doing a voter registration at San Jose State Univeristy.  If you would like to rigetser students at San Jose State please sign up and your running for office and can not attend please send a volunteer to help.

D. Treasurer (Joshua Barrouse )

We are doing well but will do better after today when you all pay your dues.

E. Political Director (Jeff Cardenas)

If the Club has not endorse a candidate  then  please do not use your SVYD title.

Endorsement committee meets regularly if anyone is available they are welcome to give us input.  You can also email your suggestions to me (Jeff).

SVYD didi a great job volunteering for the Sunnyvale recall election if anyone wants to help please contact Lucas

Richard Troung is running for city Council in Milpitas who would like SVYD endorsements.

Joshua moves for Omar to be endorse Jordan seconds it  3 abstain

Jeff moves motion to endorse Richard and Joshua seconds motion to endorse Richard.  Motion does not pass.

Discussion and is call to question motion to endorse Richard fails 12 voted to not approve the motion.

Anna Ko  presented  a resolution on behalf  of DAWN and is asking organizations  to support more women to be elected into office

Hope to clean up attendance list and we will have upon your second meeting a name tag you can use to be identified. Also members need to pay dues online or in person.

– New chair elected – Sarah Godar

– Reports that he has drafted a voter registration plan for the exe board to implenment at San Jose State University during the first week of classes. Is seeking support from young deemocrats for volunteers.

D. Treasurer (Joshua Barrouse )
Is working on a Letter to ask for money to associate membership. Is looking forward to our annual holiday party in December so we can raise more funds.

E. Political Director (Jeff Cardenas)
– Participate in a state conference regarding AB 266 transgender equality
Presentation by Councilmember Chris Moylan indicates the recall campaign has five months to get all signature currently.

Raul Peralez wanted to thank SVYD for it’s early support in his candidacy for San Jose City Council District 3. He will host a party next Thursday to thank his supporters.

A. Discussed “Women in Tech” speakers series we will be hosting on July 10th
B. Emily will check in with The Tech to try and finalize the venue. We will use UFCW as a backup venue.
C. Alex will reach out to Darcie to fill in DAWN about progress we have made on the event and what help we will need.
4) Planning next Social Event for SVYD
A. Committee agreed to have a Bowling Night for the club. This will also serve as way to recruit members. Will have it before June membership meeting but after the election.
5) Phonebanking for Mike Honda
A. Alex updated the club that the WLC was invited to join DAWN and other organizations to phonebank for Mike Honda.

Questions: How can we get the party or our local organization to reach out in the tech community. Answer: reach out to trade organizations like technet. Find your political minded friends and see if they work in the tech industry.

              a. Call to Action II: Building a Democratic Pipeline- Sat 11/9 (Alex Shor)

Focused on identifying candidates to run for City Council. Was divided up into groups like San Jose, South county, north country, etc..

Next meeting will be in December about City Council (continuation) followed by one for School Board opportunities in January.

We took everyone input into consideration and will discuss in Old Business.
